The more evenly you distribute the grounds, the more evenly water will flow through the bed of coffee. As a result, your extractions will be more balanced, repeatable and most importantly, delicious.

When it comes to distribution tools, there is no better bang for your buck, and most would say, more effective, than the Weiss Distribution Technique, or WDT. Not all tools are created equal, however, and if you have tried this technique before and had disappointing results, it was probably the tool at fault. Needle thickness, stiffness, number, and array matter. Too much—even too few—of any and all of those, and you will struggle to have good results with the technique.

The Flair WDT Tool was designed with all of this in mind, as well as to be the perfect fit for all of our portafilters, from the NEO on up to the 58.

The silicone Preheat Cap will fit snugly onto the bottom of your standard brew head (only compatible with NEO Flex, NEO, Classic and Signature models, not compatible with PRO2 or Flair 58). Just add onto the bottom when you’d like to preheat your cylinder, add boiling water, and wait at least 30-45 seconds before dumping.

Then, dump the preheat water through the top of your cylinder and remove the preheat cap by using the custom thumb tab that will keep you far away from any hot water. Brew as desired!

The Flow-Control 2 improves upon this technology by adding a removable spout which allows for cleaning and de-clogging of the restricted spout. Now users can clean their portafilters as often as they want, ensuring the highest level of performance on a daily basis.

The Flow-Control 2 continues to allow brewers to add any grounds they want and lower the lever for delicious espresso. As before, this technology works by restricting the exit hole and generating pressure in the puck to ensure proper extraction times.

With proper use, each spout will enjoy a long lifespan. But, in the case of loss or damage customers can purchase a replacement pack of three (3) spouts, available in March of 2021.
